We are in London, extremely lucky to be in a Yotel (tiny hotel inside airport), thanks to someone cancelling their reservation at just the right time, rather than sleeping in airport chairs or on the floor somewhere. We were on our way to Albania, with a plane/airport change in London, when all flights in/out of British airspace were cancelled. I guess the ash from a volcanic eruption that started yesterday in Iceland is making air travel unsafe. We are currently rebooked for a flight on Saturday, and are planning to take advantage of the time in London. Most of the day was spent trying to secure a hotel and a new flight. But we did manage a brief trip into London tonight. We are also lucky that we don't have any particular event that we need to get to Albania for, so we can relax and enjoy the longer journey.
